Soloist of the ballet

The son of the famous dancer, Rafik Azizov, was born in Baku in 1985. In 2003 he graduated from the Baku Choreographic School (class of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, the ballet master P. Agalyu, which released many great dancers( such as A. Kaftir,G.Doda, A. Toromani etc.) From 2003 Ulvi Azizov is the Guest Principal Dancer of Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Guest Principal Dancer of Ukrainian National Opera and Ballet Theatre of T. H. Shevchenko. In 2010 Ulvi Azizov was awarded by the international organization “Turksoi” for his contribution to the development of ballet Arts and the high level of professional skills at the Rudolf Nureev XVI International Ballet Festival. The talent of Ulvi Azizov was highly appreciated by the famous ex Maitre de Ballet of Paris Opera (the choreographer), Professor Francis Malovik: ”Ulvi Azizov has shown himself as a great classical dancer, able to demonstrate both his dramatic talent and excellent techniques”. Ulvi Azizov has participated in many World International Ballet Galas and various festivals in Italy, Finland, Ukraine, Turkey, Germany, Russia, Hungary, Slovakia, France, etc. His repertoire includes Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Swan Lake, Spartacus, Sleeping beauty, etc.

Starting from the 2011, he is engaged as a soloist of the Prague State Opera.

The Prague State Opera in cooperation with the Slovart publishing house publishes a representative book tracking the history of this significant cultural institution since its opening in 1888 till the end of the 2002/2003 season. The publication called The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates is focusing solely on the opera featured at the scene, even though the theatre under various names also served to presentation of drama plays, operettas and ballet. The Prague State opera plans to publish the volumes concentrating on those genres in the next years.
